- I am researching the Nelson family most recently from Southwest Virginia near Bear Wallow in Tazewell County, but ancestors were from Ashe, North Carolina. My known ancestry is as follows:
Howard Nelson (12/29/1898 - 12/30/1984) m. Mamie Dove Steele - Bear Wallow, VA.
James Nelson (9/16/1874 - 8/13/1945) m. Hannah Ann Bandy - Bear Wallow, VA
Israel Nelson (? - 7/14/1909) m. Susan Henkle Payton - born in Tazewell Co., VA
Isaac Nelson (abt. 1817 in Ashe, NC; d. ?; m Susannah Young (3/8/1825)) - some children born in NC and others in VA - Israel, Martisha, and Eliza.
If anyone has any further information that could help me, I'd appreciate it. Ihaven't been able to get back any further than Isaac.
